Aaron Eckhart

Last year I watched Aaron's movie about the tobacco industry Thank You For Smoking in my Public Relations class. It's a really great movie and for anyone who hasn't seen it I highly recommend doing so! I just recently sent off a magazine photo to Aaron which he returned back to me signed and he also sent along his own BW photo that he signed and inscribed to me. His reply time was super quick (11 days)! I'm really hoping these signatures are authentic because he is such a great actor. I want to see his film No Reservations that he did with Catherine Zeta-Jones as I didn't get the chance to see it in theatres.

Cast of Legally Blonde: The Musical

Omigod... omigod, you guys! So its been awhile since I posted but in April I finally got another success in the mail, a Playbill signed by the cast of the Broadway musical Legally Blonde. I got rush tickets to go see the show during my Spring break with my sister and cousin and it's phenomenal! Definitely one of my favorites on Broadway. I'd see it again in a heartbeat. :)

Home for the summer now and I'm starting to send out some more requests so hopefully I'll have some cool stuff to post in the upcoming months.

Ed Alonzo

Growing up I was a big fan of the television show Saved By the Bell. My sister and I would watch it all of the time. In July I emailed Ed Alonzo asking for an autographed photo. He played the role of Max, the magician/owner of the diner The Max. This February he sent me this BW 8x10 photo of him as his Saved By the Bell character and he also sent me a signed color postcard sized photo of himself.

Carole King

I wrote to Carole King about 3 years ago and never heard back from her. I heard that she'd been out on tour for the past several years and I decided to give her another shot. My parents are a fan of her music so I listened to it a lot growing up. I LOVE her album Tapestry, it's definitely a musical masterpiece. I received this back in January and was really excited about this success! I'm glad to add Carole's signature to my collection. She's a very talented singer and songwriter and I enjoy listening to her music. She sent me this 8x10 BW photo and even took the time to inscribed it to me! :)

Dane Cook

I wasn't expecting this one. I wrote to Dane Cook once via snail mail and then sent another request via email after not hearing back from him. If your a regular reader of my blog you probably already know that I got Dane's autograph already. I guess they must have finally found my snail mail request and he sent me another signed photo (different from the first one I received). But hey I'm not complaining... I LOVE Dane!!!

Taylor Swift

I discovered Taylor Swift's music after hearing her song "Tim McGraw", which is ironically named after her favorite singer. I instantly became a fan. Taylor has a beautiful voice and her songs are so easy to relate to. Maybe that is because Taylor is very hands on and writes most of the songs herself. She is definetly going places and I look forward to hearing more of her music whenever she records a second album.

Caroll Spinney

Caroll Spinney is the man behind the vocie of Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. Seasame Street was one of my favorite shows to watch as a child so I decided to write a letter to him after reading his book The Wisdom of Big Bird (and the Dark Genius of Oscar the Grouch): Lessons from a Life in Feathers. It was a VERY enjoyable book, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and easy read. This success is easily one of my favorites from 2007. Mr. Spinney sent me this smaller BW ISP of himself as well as an 8x10 color ISP of Big Bird, a color copy of a Christmas illustration of Big Bird, an orginal sketch he drew of Big Bird for me and probably my favorite of all.... he drew a sketch of Oscar on the cereal box I sent for cardboard backing on the blank side and there is word bubble coming out of Oscars mouth that says "Hey, Shel- This is great! I've been drawn on an 'Ol Piece 'O card!" Mr. Spinney also sent me a nice letter that was very enjoyable to read. Probably my favorite of the few handwritten notes I have received. He even drew a little sketch on it too. An AWESOME success.. He is obviously a man who truly appreciates his fans! :)

Jerry Bruckheimer

Jerry has produced many notable movies including Flashdance, Top Gun, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down to name a few. He also worked on all of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies which I have to say are my favorite movies of his along with the sports flick Remember the Titans. Recently, he signed on to produce a movie of the Sophie Kinsella book, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Loved that book can't wait to see it on the big screen! :)

Tony Danza

Next up is a BW 5x7 signed and inscribed photo from Tony Danza! When I was little I used to watch his television series Who's the Boss. I also think he did an awesome job as Mel Clark in the Disney movie Angels in the Outfield. More recently I was a fan of his afternoon talk show, The Tony Danza Show, which unfortunately was cancelled sometime within the past couple of years.

Jonathan Jackson

It's been awhile since I last posted and I have ALOT of updates! First of them being from actor Jonathan Jackson. I wrote him sometime late last year and in October I received this 8x10 BW inscribed and signed photo. I think Jonathan is a great actor, I really enjoyed him in the movies The Deep End of the Ocean, Tuck Everlasting and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. Jonathan also guest starred in one of my favorite episodes of Boy Meets World! :)

Reba McIntire

I came home for the weekend and another autograph was waiting on my desk for me! This time it was from Country singer and actress Reba McIntire. I really enjoyed watching her on the WB series Reba. It was a good show, too bad it got cancelled! After seeing a success from her I decided to try her via venue at a performace she did earlier this month. On the 22nd I got back this nice signed and inscribed photo.

Geoffrey Rush

SOOOOO excite about this success!!!! I saw some successes from Geoffrey Rush who plays Captain Barbossa in Pirates of the Caribbean. My mom and I are really big fans of the movie so I printed up two pictures and sent them off to Mr. Rush near the end of August. He been answering alot of fan mail lately and this week I got my two photos back signed (one inscribed to me and the other to my mom). I LOVE how he writes a little bubble with a message from the monkey... too cute! He also wrote "Hi Shelley, thanks for your letter" on the cardboard I had put in the envelope to prevent the photos from bending. Most definitely one of my best successes!

Lance Bass

I came home for the weekend and found two autographs waiting for me. The first one is from Lance Bass of *Nsync. As a teenager I was a HUGE fan of boy bands, and*Nsync was one of my favorites. A few years I got Joey Fatone by writing him when he was in "Little Shop of Horrors" in NYC. I recently heard Lance Bass was playing Corney Collins in Broadway's Hairspray, so I decided to write him. I received the pin-up I sent signed and inscribed and he signed my index card. Only three more members to go and I'll have the whole band!!!

Adam Pascal

I found a 5x7 photo of Adam from RENT in the back of the binder I keep my autographs in that he returned to me unsigned the first time I wrote him this past winter. I decided since I went through all the trouble months ago to get this printed up I might as well send it off to him while he's still in RENT on Broadway. He returned it signed and inscribed and he spelt my name right this time!!!! :D

Laura Osnes and Max Crumm

Earlier this year I watched Laura and Max on the reality series Grease: Your the One I Want. The television show was an American Idol- like competition where the finalists competed for the lead roles of Sandy and Danny in the Broadway revival of the musical Grease which opened this summer! I sent of a letter to both Laura and Max and shortly after I received this sign Playbill. Laura stuck a L-shaped sticky on the back thanking me for my support. :)

Jason Earles

Today brought me not only a signed photo but also a handwritten note from Jason Earles, who plays Jackson on the Disney show Hannah Montana! In the note he answered the questions that I asked him in my request letter. Awesome success! Now if only I can get Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus.... :)

I sent out another bunch of autographs this past month. After this I probably won't be able to sent out requests as frequently because in a few weeks I'll be moving back on campus and classes start up again. Anyways, here is who I wrote to most recently:

  • Piper Perabo [Actress; Cheaper by the Dozen, Because I Said So]
  • The Goo Goo Dolls [Band; known for their songs such as "Slide", "Broadway" and "Iris"]
  • Sir Elton John [Singer/Pianist; "Candle in the Wind"]
  • Bryan Adams [Singer; "Summer of '69" "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You"]
  • Ed Alonzo [Actor; played Max on the TV series Saved By the Bell]
  • John Ondrasik [Singer; also know as Five for Fighting, sings the songs "100 Years"and "The Riddle"]
  • Les Paul [American Jazz Guitarist; helped design one of the most famous model of guitars]
  • Jerry Bruckheimer [Director; Remember the Titans, Pirates of the Caribbean]

Kevin R. McNally

I received this autographed photo from Kevin R. McNally in July. I just realized I forgot to post it back then because I was having scanner issues. I was really happy to add his autograph to my growing collection of POTC related signatures. I think he did an awesome job as Mr. Gibbs in all three of the films!
